Initial Condition and Challenges:

When it came time to finish the concrete floors, they were in their raw, pre-treated state—typical for newly poured surfaces. At this stage, the concrete was:

  • Unsealed and naturally porous

  • Prone to moisture absorption and dust without protection

  • Visually plain, with a flat, uneven appearance in some areas

  • Not yet reflective of the clean, modern look the homeowner envisioned

The client’s main concerns were long-term protection, easier maintenance, and enhancing the appearance of the exposed concrete without going for a full decorative epoxy or tile solution.

Process and Solution:
Surface Cleaning and Prep
We performed mechanical grinding to remove surface contaminants, open up the pores of the concrete, and ensure proper adhesion.
Hairline cracks and minor imperfections were filled and leveled to create a smooth, consistent surface.
